The St Mellons Community Living project is a redevelopment of the former Youth Community Centre. The site is located on Crickhowell Road, forms part of the St Mellons District Centre and within walking distance of local shopping facilities and St Mellons Hub.
The proposal will deliver high-quality independent living accommodation that provides modern spacious homes for older people to ensure residents can live a full and active life in an accessible location.
The development will provide:
- one and two bed self-contained apartments.
- On-site communal facilities including electric scooter charging, bicycle storage, activity rooms, residents’ lounges, health suite and landscaped communal gardens.
Current status
Overall, the project is progressing well, with key milestones achieved and positive feedback. Foundation and drainage work is nearly completed and work has commenced for the steel frame. We hope to have this new development ready for handover to the council and tenants moved in by Autumn 2025.
