Map of Community Hubs - April 2022

The Council is working in partnership with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CAVUHB) to deliver new, integrated facilities that will enhance community health and wellbeing provision at key locations around the city.

These partnership schemes have the following at the heart of them:

  • In line with the ‘Shaping our Future Wellbeing’ strategy  Transformation and Improvement – Shaping Our Future Wellbeing – Cardiff and Vale University Health Board
  • CAVUHB and the Council are committed to the integration and modernisation of health and community services and shared use of public sector assets, as set out in Cardiff’s Wellbeing Plan.
  • The principles of the Wellbeing Hubs align strongly with the ethos of the Council’s Community Hubs programme, which has embedded joined-up service provision and partnership working in priority neighbourhoods.
  • The Wellbeing Hubs will support health, local authority and third sector groups to deliver wellbeing advice, education, support and signposting.

In both schemes the regeneration team acts as the lead Council contact and pulls together a wide range of project principles and council roles around Hubs, Planning, Parks and Estates matters. We also work closely with the Regional Partnership Board Home – Cardiff & Vale Integrated Health & Social Care Partnership (cvihsc.co.uk) on capital planning and partnership work which includes Cardiff Council, the Vale Council, CAVUHB, Registered Social Landlords and the third sector.

Our partnership project with Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board is now open – it delivers Cardiff’s first integrated community health and wellbeing centre at the Maelfa, supporting joined-up service provision and partnership working and will be a real asset for the community.
