Cardiff Council is developing exciting plans for a new pedestrian and cycle bridge across the River Taff in Cardiff.

In late 2022 we ran a public consultation to showcase our emerging plans for the new bridge and these were well received by the local community.  Since then, we’ve been progressing our plans and taking account of the feedback received.

In late 2024 we also ran a pre-application consultation where the local and wider community were able to give their input before the designs are submitted to the local planning authority.

On 4th June 2026 plans were approved at Cardiff Council’s Planning Committee. A funding strategy has yet to be confirmed but it will be developed as part of the next stage of the scheme.
