A narrow pathway with uneven stone slabs runs between two residential areas. On the left side, a brick wall with a fence and greenery leads to a beige house with small windows. On the right side, a tall wooden fence borders the path. Grass grows between the stones, giving the path an overgrown look. More houses and trees are visible in the distance under an overcast sky.

Cardiff Council will be making improvements to Trowbridge Green with the aim of making a better environment for people to live in.

In 2021, we consulted with local residents to find local priorities for the area. Highlighted during the consultation was:

  • Condition of the footpaths
  • Speed of vehicles
  • Condition of the courtyards

In response to these concerns, the proposed works include:

  • Upgrade of pedestrian pathways throughout the estate
  • Environmental improvements to the public realm
  • Implementing traffic calming measures
  • Upgrade of front and rear boundaries (including gates)

Courtyard improvements:

  • New surfacing,
  • New bin stores,
  • Increased security
  • New provision for drying clothes

Current status

I am pleased to share that Knights Brown has been chosen as the principle contractor. Works will begin in November, and will be completed in the summer 2026. You will be notified when works in your immediate area are due to commence.

We appreciate that, unavoidably, the works are likely to cause a level of inconvenience for residents. However, the Council and the appointed contractor will ensure that disruption will be keep to a minimum as we work towards creating a better environment for the local community.
