Cardiff Council is planning to make improvements on Merches Place and Pentre Place, as part of the Neighbourhood Renewal Scheme (NRS) Programme.

Merches Place / Mardy Street

  • Pedestrian safety and speed calming improvements on the bend in the road
  • New planters
  • Cycle stands

Pentre Place Road End

  • Cut back of trees
  • New paving
  • New bollards
  • Resurfacing of Pentre Place road
  • Lining of new resident parking bays*

Dinas Street and Hafod Street Ends

  • New bollards
  • New planters

We would be interested in hearing from residents getting in touch who wish to be involved in on-going management of the planters, following their installation.

New resident bays would be introduced to protect parking for local residents. Residents would need permits to park in these bays. Non-permit holders would still be able to park in these bays, but only for up to one hour. Some new yellow lines will also be introduced to stop inconsiderate and obstructive parking near access points and junctions.

*More information on a proposed resident parking scheme on Pentre Place, will be provided by the Parking Team.
