This project has been completed.

New bow top railing in front of properties.

Project overview

Taff Embankment Garden Village was built in the 1970’s and majority of the properties are flats, with some houses and bungalows.

Originally the front boundaries and communal garden areas were ‘knee-high’ timber rails which were in a poor condition or broken. Paving areas were in need of repair and residents did not have anywhere to store their waste bins.

Works completed

We have made the following improvements:

  • Installing new steel boundary fencing
  • Securing entrances to rear courtyards with new wooden fencing and gates
  • Improving front gardens and forecourts with a combination of new paving and grassed areas
  • Identified spaces for bin storage
  • Specific footpath works to assist mobility
  • New traffic bollards

Current status

The main parts of the scheme were completed in December 2019. Resurfacing of the estate footpaths was carried out in September 2020 to complete the scheme.
